What are the orange dots?
The orange dots on these boxes represent bacteria, fungal spores and other microbes that Iotron’s IMPELA® electron beam would remove from products, for example, medical devices or agricultural feeds. Of course, Iotron does more than sterilization and enhances materials, such as in polymer cross-linking and chain scission. Learn about the full range of capabilities here. Whatever your specific needs are, the process generally works the way you see here.
Your eyes on the ground
By carefully inspecting items in advance, we ensure that no damaged material is processed — which would be a waste of time and money. We assist our Clients in determining how the product was damaged. Was it non-complying? Damaged in shipping? We’ll do our best to determine the cause, recover lost revenue, and keep it from happening again.
A word about tray size
Our tray size is designed around the footprint of a standard pallet. This maximizes the efficiency of product loading onto trays and the overall treatment process. Products are simply loaded directly from pallets onto our trays and through for treatment. Learn more about the effectiveness of our tray systems by clicking here.
Why all the concrete?
Iotron’s IMPELA® electron accelerator is an extremely effective sterilization tool producing, by design, electrons that penetrate through solid materials – that’s how we can penetrate and sterilize the completely sealed contents of large boxes, bags and packages. Concrete barriers ensure the treatment area and this penetrating sterilization technology, is segregated from the warehouse and general operational areas.
Let's get technical
The state-of-the-art IMPELA® electron beam accelerator operates at 10 MeV and up to 100 kW in power, providing Clients industrial-scale throughput capability. The accelerator uses no radioactive materials and is powered by simple commercial electricity. This high-capacity technology was designed to exceed that of gamma (cobalt isotope) treatment and ETO chemical gas processing.
Electrical power is safe power
The IMPELA® beam can be switched on and off as required, allowing tremendous flexibility in operational scheduling. If maintenance is required, the system is simply turned off for immediate access to the accelerator and components. Very often, competing technologies do not have this level of flexibility, where changes to scheduling or access to equipment can occur within seconds.
Our Shipping and Logistics department can assist with documentation necessary for transport and associated warehouse and distribution activities such as pick & pack, lot traceability labeling, first-in first-out requirements or standard pallet handling requirements such as wrapping, pallet caps, corner pieces or stacking.
